Star Blazers are TRC's most dedicated and exceptional students who go above and beyond in their engineering education. They demonstrate excellence not just in technical skills, but in leadership, creativity, perseverance, and community contribution. Star Blazers serve as role models, mentors, and ambassadors for the TRC mission to "Dare Mighty Things."
🎯 Selection Criteria
Academic Excellence
Demonstrates exceptional understanding and application of engineering concepts. Consistently produces high-quality work and achieves outstanding results in projects and assessments.
Leadership & Mentorship
Shows initiative in helping peers, leading team projects, and mentoring younger students. Actively contributes to a positive and collaborative learning environment.
Innovation & Creativity
Thinks outside the box, proposes creative solutions to challenges, and demonstrates original thinking in project design and problem-solving approaches.
Dedication & Perseverance
Shows consistent commitment to learning, doesn't give up when facing difficult challenges, and maintains enthusiasm even through setbacks and obstacles.
Community Contribution
Participates in competitions, outreach events, and community activities. Represents TRC positively and helps promote STEM education to others.
Growth Mindset
Embraces challenges as opportunities to learn, actively seeks feedback, and continuously works to improve skills and knowledge in all areas.

📋 Nomination & Selection Process
Nomination Period
Star Blazer nominations are accepted at the end of each semester. Instructors, staff, and peer students can nominate candidates who demonstrate the Star Blazer criteria.
Review Committee
A committee of TRC instructors and administrators reviews all nominations, considering academic performance, instructor feedback, project portfolios, and overall contribution to the TRC community.
Recognition Ceremony
Selected Star Blazers are announced and celebrated at a special recognition ceremony where they receive their badges, certificates, and are inducted into the Star Blazer Hall of Fame.
